Leadership is what gives any collaborative activity a sense of direction and purpose. Without leadership, management could degenerate into a purely bureaucratic process – efficient, effective, maybe, but to what end?

Leadership articulates the vision towards which everyone involved is working, and sustains their work by providing both emotional and intellectual support.
